Psychedelics decrease the integrity of brain networks

Previous work has shown that Psychedelics decrease brain network integrity, especially within the default mode network (Carhart-Harris2016a, Johnson2019, Muller2018, Roseman2014). Integrity of functional connectivity is decreased within resting state networks but is increased between normally distinct RSNs.
This can be equally interpreted as representing increased global integration (Tagliazucchi2016, Petri2014) and decreased global-segregation (dosSantos2016).
