The Kuramoto order parameter describes the local degree of synchronization of a brain region, n, as a function of space x, and time t, at given scale .
The scale of local synchronization is defined by which determines the spatial distance where synchronization is assessed.
Higher values of indicate shorter distances, and vice versa.
