Cortical gradient
The cortical gradient is a hierarchical gradient of cortical organization, where transmodal cortex sits at the top (Margulies2016) and unimodal cortex at the bottom. Convergent evidence indicates the principal functional gradient may a defining aspect of the human brain’s cortical organization (Huntenburg2018).
