Amount of peakedness in the distribution. If the centre shows too many observations relative to what would be seen under a normal distribution, distribution is considered too peaked and Kurtosis value is positive.
A confidence interval (Kurtosis +- 2SE) containing the value zero shows there is no statistical evidence for peakedness in the population.
