Event-related desynchronization
In response to a specific stimulus, oscillatory power decreases in a specific frequency band. This is counter to event-related synchronization, where a stimulus induces an increase in the amplitude of the frequency band in question.
Introduced by Arno Pfurtscheller in the 1970s.
