Note-taking is just as valuable as writing

We often over-value the writing process itself, relative to the process of writing notes. It’s common for people to disregard note-taking, as, in Andy Matsuchak’s words, note-taking is something that most consider temporary.

However, if you are writing atomic notes, or evergreen notes, your ideas accrete over time. Spending time writing, revising, and re-visiting old notes, you are spending time thinking in a way that is lower friction than staring at the empty next line of your manuscript.
