Consciousness is to the mind what the intrinsic is to physics

The Hard problem of consciousness asks the question, “Why is it conscious?” — even if we are to explain the easy problems of consciousness, we still are stuck with a question of Why?

This problem is the same in physics — at its foundations, we define things like mass, force, and acceleration in terms of its behavior: , and so on. Force doesn’t have its own intrinsic characteristics, and in the same way brain dynamics are equally unspecified.

It may be the case that the solution to both of these is consciousness itself — this is what Panpsychism is all about.
