Negative Reactions to Uridine

Uridine may cause overmethylation issues
- Sensitivity to choline/folate after 250mg sublingual uridine
CDP choline → choline + cytidine | cytidine → uridine
- Uridine also → CDP choline

Methylation:

Addition of methyl group (via SAMe) to a molecule → regulation of that molecule
Modulates stress response, hormone regulation, gene expression (via epigenetics), antioxidant activity, prod. neurotransmitters, inflammation, immune response, etc.
Prod. SAMe
- Requires 5-MTHF (methylfolate AKA methyl-b9)
- Polymorphisms of MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase) & COMT (catechol-O-methyltransferase) reduce capacity to produce 5-MTHF
- methylcobalamin (B12) + pyridoxal 5’phosphate (B6) necessary
